Romanian Sunrise

Up goes the latch, down goes the key.

Suitcase in hand, I finally

Will fly to the East, over mountains and plains.

To the land that I love. I’ll be home again

And when I arrive, my soul will be free

Again in the arms of my family

The fire burns bright, with cakes in the pan

To warm this lost traveler, returned once again

(ch) The Romanian Sunrise welcomes me home

With pastels of colours on homelands below

Carpathian Mountains reach up to the sky

Embracing the warm Romanian Sunrise

Now, I had been told I should go to the West

Where money comes easy, and life is the best

Those stories of riches are fairy tale dreams

Just a mirage, and not what they seem

For now I have found true riches are not

More money in pocket, more luxuries bought.

But rather the warmth of a love that is shared

With friends and with family, where hearts truly care

(ch) The Romanian Sunrise welcomes me home

With pastels of colours on homelands below

Carpathian Mountains reach up to the sky

Embracing the warm Romanian Sunrise
